Open Settings from Menu → Account → Settings or from the Account Actions row at the bottom of the Menu sheet.
Appearance & Theme
Choose how the app looks with three display mode options:
- Light: Bright white background with dark text — best for daytime use
- Dark: Dark background with light text — easier on the eyes in low light and saves battery on OLED screens
- System: Automatically matches your phone's system-wide dark/light mode setting
Tap any mode card to switch instantly. The change applies immediately across the entire app.
Security & Access — Biometric Authentication
Enable fingerprint or face recognition for faster, more secure login:
- Toggle on the Biometric Authentication switch.
- Your credentials are securely stored on your device.
- The next time you open the app, it will prompt you to authenticate with your fingerprint or face instead of typing your password.
Note: This feature requires a device with a fingerprint sensor or face unlock hardware. If your device does not support biometrics, the switch will be disabled and the text will say "Biometric sensor unavailable."
Push Notifications
Toggle System Notifications on or off:
- On: You will receive real-time push notifications for homework assignments, fee due dates, exam schedules, notices, circulars, and chat messages.
- Off: You will not receive any push notifications. You will still see notifications when you open the app.
App Information
At the bottom of the Settings screen, a card shows the app name (IPSC Student Portal Mobile), version number, and build date. This information is useful if you need to report a bug or check if you are on the latest version.
