TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYEMENT

Employment Period:

Initial employment period of the teacher is probationary, that will be for three months starting from the date of joining. However, this period can be cut short or extended based on an individual’s performance and at the discretion of the management.

Leave And Working Hours:

The teacher shall work as full-time employee for optimal hours per week (Monday-Saturday), decided by the school management depending on the number of classes scheduled for him/her by the school. The management also reserves the right of calling teacher on duty even during holidays for carrying specific school assignment.

Teachers are entitled to avail 10 casual leaves and 6 sick leaves in a year with prior permission in writing or medical certificate. Leaves cannot be accumulated and carry forward to the next year. Leaves taken beyond this limit are without-pay.

The teacher also has to set work for her/his classes and submit it with the leave application.

In case of emergency, the teacher has to inform the school office verbally before the school begins. Late or no information will be counted as absence on loss of pay.

Casual leave taken on Friday/Saturday and on Monday will include Sunday as leave.

Arriving late thrice in a month after the school starts in the morning, will be considered as one day’s leave on loss of pay.

Responsibilities of the Teacher:
  1. The teacher shall work to the best of his/her abilities to teach his/her students as efficiently as possible and within the general goals and guidelines set forth by the school. The teacher will familiarize him/herself with the school’s policies, programs and curricula and attempt to meet the general timetable outlined by school.
  2. The teacher is responsible for the general atmosphere and conduct, academic and social, in his/her classroom and behavior of students during his/her scheduled class hours, including break time.
  3. The teacher shall conduct and dress him/herself in a professional manner.
  4. The teacher shall report any specific student difficulties, academic or social, to the school’s management and, with their assistance, communicate with the student’s parents in order to affect an appropriate solution to the problem.
  5. The teacher shall not use any kind of corporal punishments, mental or physical harassment, verbal abuse or malicious behavior to students. Any complaint in this regard will be taken seriously with legal action and termination from job.
  6. The teacher shall attend teacher’s meetings every week. He / she is required to seek and share ideas that may benefit both him / herself as well as the other teachers in the school.
  7. The teacher shall prepare for each class, and correct homework. Student evaluation reports shall be prepared keenly.
  8. The teacher shall decorate his/her classroom, participate in the creation of teaching aids and help maintain school property.
  9. If the teacher cannot come to work for some reason, He / she should inform the school, as well as work in advance with the school to find a suitable substitute. The teacher must also inform the substitute of the components to be taught during his / her absence.
Teaching Materials:

The school will provide all textbooks and materials to the teacher, as well as provide training and/or on-going assistance through discussion, resource sharing, teachers meetings, training programs etc. As the teacher will be able to use materials created by other teachers, he / she should also be willing to share the materials he / she creates. Any teaching materials purchased by the school, or purchased by a teacher for the school, will be considered the school’s property, and will remain with the school when the teacher finished his/her contract.

Stipulation for Discretion:

The teacher will not divulge any information about the school, which may lead to either a financial loss or a loss of reputation for the school. If the teacher divulges such information, (including information concerning the school’s finances, enrollment, teaching methodology, pedagogy, teaching materials, personnel, etc.), s/he shall be responsible for any financial loss or loss of reputation the school thereby suffers and the teacher may incur penalties.

Notice Period:

If the teacher wishes to terminate his/her employment with the school, s/he will be required to give 60-days written notice in advance of the termination date and that also should not in the middle of academic session. It will be compulsory for the teacher to ensure that on being submitted with or when submitting the notice of termination, proper handling over of all the school’s assets, responsibilities and obligations is carried out to the entire satisfaction of the school, failing which reserve the right to delay affecting the release without any liability on School’s part.

Termination of Employment due to breach of School’s Policies:

In case of breach of any term of this appointment or any policy and procedure of the School, your services will be terminated.

Employment Outside the School:

The teacher must not work at any other place without the permission from the owner of the School.
